Second-harmonic flat-top beam shaping via a three-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal

WeexperimentallyextendthenonlinearGaussiantofat-topbeamshapingfromonetotwodimensionsthroughathree-dimensionalnonlinearphotoniccrystal.Employinganear-infraredfemtosecondlaser,weinduceamodifcationinsidelithiumniobatetoachieveasecond-ordernonlin-earopticalcoefcientmodulationinthreedimensions.Thefat-toppedtruncationofwavefronthasbeenadjustedinamutualperpendicularcoordinateseparately.Amongthegeneratedfat-toppedbeams,theoptimalfatnessis97.1%,andthenonlinearconversionefciencyis10 atthepeakpowerof37kWwiththeinteractionlengthof630 µm.Byaddinganextradimension,ourworksimultaneouslyenablesfull-wavefrontfat-topdistributionandnonlinearfrequencyconversion.
